Flooding up from the Draa Valley's river, this later has shaped the Saghro over the centuries, creating Tizgui's stunning waterfalls. Known for their freshness and beautiful landscapes, Tizgui's waterfalls are located about 80km south of Ouarzazate.
Tizgui’s waterfalls are ideal for relaxing, picnicking, and camping under the stars. They are the best stopover for hikers to rest.
A refreshing spot
A long road through serpentine hills and a rocky mountain valley lead all the way to Tizgui. It is undeniably a magnificent landscape, although the surroundings do not give the impression that a corner of paradise is hidden behind it.
Upon arrival, rustic stairs following the cliff take you to the Oued’s edge. In the middle of a paradise of freshness and greenery, and away from the hustle and bustle, this is a perfect spot for nature lovers.
Dropping into a magnificent natural pool surrounded by palm and fig trees, breathtaking waterfalls slide over the worn rocks. The water flows through oleander-filled passageways while irrigating the surrounding greenery. When the water is collected, small natural pools ideal for swimming form. A spectacular panorama of vivid scenery can be seen from the top of the cliffs.
Tizgui’s waterfalls can be reached by following the stream of Oued Drâa from the reservoir of Mansour Dahbi. On their way to Agdz’ valley, hikers or donkey riders, often stop by Tizgui’s waterfalls. When the flow of the Draa’ valley is low in the summer, the water follows the same track. It runs on big pink and green pebbles. This means the Ouedi was once a raging river.
