Marathon des sables - The 36th edition

The 36th edition of the Marathon des Sables, the most famous pedestrian race in the Sahara, will take place from March 25 to April 15 in Morocco. An event that goes far beyond the framework of sport. This race is an opportunity to live a unique experience.

Since the first edition of the Marathon des Sables in 1986, this foot race has seen the participation of more than 22,000 runners from around the world and different age groups ranging from 16 years for the youngest to 83 years for the oldest.

This year for its 36th edition, several runners will take the departure on March 25th from Paris towards Morocco and more precisely the region of Drâa Tafilalet to lead this adventure planned in 6 stages and over a distance of 250 km. One of the main obligations of the competitors during this event is to be self-sufficient in food. Each competitor must carry his or her own equipment, i.e. food and compulsory materials.

The Marathon des Sables, for 36 years, remains an incredible human and sporting experience for lovers of Morocco and its exceptional desert.
